A high-speed chase and subsequent vehicle collision led to the arrest of a Fairburn man by Peachtree City police on multiple felony charges.
According to reports, during a traffic stop in the area of Hwy. 74 and Senoia Road in the wee hours of March 1, the suspect fled. While fleeing from pursuing officers, the suspect collided with another vehicle and was taken into custody near Hwy. 74 and Meadow Glen.
Terell Owens, 41, of Fairburn faces two counts of illegal possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and two counts of drug possession/sale/manufacture, according to the Fayette County Jail log. He also was charged with fleeing/eluding law enforcement and tampering with evidence. That adds up to six felonies.
There was also a long list of lesser charges, including a tail light violation, obscured/missing license plate, possession of drug-related objects, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, seat belt violation, too fast for conditions, speeding, DUI of drugs, littering highway, marijuana possession, and two counts of possession of non-labeled prescription drugs.
Elsewhere in the county, a deputy county marshal encountered an occupied vehicle in Starr’s Mill Park on the evening of March 3, after the park was closed. The two occupants of the vehicle — Ashley Miner, 40, of Forsyth; and Kenyon Robinson, 43, of Brooks, were subsequently arrested on multiple felony charges.
Both suspects were charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to a report. The county jail log listed three felony drug charges for each suspect, and a FCMO spokesperson said methamphetamine, MCMA (Ecstasy) and mushrooms were the drugs found in the vehicle.
Both suspects were also charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession and violation of the county park ordinance.
A black Chevrolet Malibu with extremely dark window tint was seen March 4 turning onto Hwy. 54 from Peachtree Parkway. A GCIC check of the vehicle showed the registered owner to be wanted out of Carroll County.
The subsequent traffic stop confirmed that the driver was indeed the wanted person. Alonzo Wyatt, 30, of Fairburn was taken into custody to await pickup by Carroll County.
Another black Chevrolet was seen March 4 traveling on Peachtree Parkway at a high rate of speed, confirmed by radar at 62 miles per hour or 22 over the speed limit. Once contact was made with the driver, it was determined that he had active warrants out of South Fulton. Cody McGlone, 32, of College Park was arrested on that warrant and also cited for speeding.
