As is the case so often in this area, the simple matter of window tint on his car put a man in the Fayette County Jail last week.

According to reports, a Jan. 10 traffic stop on Hwy. 74 near Aberdeen Parkway for that reason revealed that the driver was operating his vehicle with a suspended license. After he consented to a search, officers found him in possession of Schedule II and Schedule IV controlled substances.

Lewis Wilson, 27, of Fayetteville faces two felony drug counts along with the window tint and suspended license charges.

Elsewhere in Peachtree City, an officer on general patrol Jan. 11 ran a license plate check on a vehicle in the area of Huddleston Road and found that the registration was suspended. Making a traffic stop in the parking lot of Atlanta Markets Furnishings, the officer investigated further and found the driver to be wanted by a neighboring agency.

Once the warrant was confirmed, Iyanitus Starr, 43, of Villa Rica was arrested and taken to jail while the vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.

A traffic stop was conducted in the wee hours of Jan. 7 at Peachtree Parkway and Braelinn Court on an SUV due to multiple traffic violations. During the field investigation the driver was found to be under the influence of suspected cocaine and alcohol, and also in possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Devin King, 25, of Peachtree City is charged with drug possession/sale/manufacture, possession/use of drug-related objects, DUI of alcohol and drugs, improper use/turning signal/light and failure to maintain lane, according to the Fayette County Jail log.

Upon initiating a Jan. 7 traffic stop at Stevens Entry and Tivoli Gardens, an officer detected the smell of marijuana coming from the suspect’s vehicle. During a probable cause search MDMA and marijuana were found.

Christiyona Thomas, 24, of LaGrange was the driver and she faces felony charges of drug possession/sale/manufacture and possession of a firearm/knife in commission of a crime along with marijuana possession and two traffic violations.

Danisha Hambrick, 27, Fayetteville was the passenger in the vehicle and was arrested on a warrant as wanted from another law enforcement agency.
