Rae Duncan is the featured artist exhibiting her luxuriant and visually unique paper flower art at the Peachtree City Library Art Initiative from January to February 2024.
Duncan enjoys the artistic experience of creating something beautiful from nothing more than a few pieces of paper and her imagination. “Nature usually directs my path, and I constantly draw upon it for inspiration,” states Duncan. She loves paper as a medium, enjoying how it feels in her hands as she cuts, folds, or bends it. “It is a malleable, highly textural material that is easily accessible for most. When manipulated, a single sheet of paper gains such depth through my process of superimposing many layers together to create shapes and patterns, giving my art its three-dimensional aesthetic beauty.”
Rae is the 2024 president-elect of the Newnan-Coweta Art Association (NCAA) and serves as the NCAA Student Scholarship Committee Chair. She is actively involved in her community whenever time permits and is a member of the California State University Los Angeles Alumni Association.
Rae resides in Newnan with her family. She accepts limited local commissions and can be reached via email at [email protected].
The Fayette Art Society, the Newnan-Coweta Art Association, and the Peachtree City Photography Club are exhibiting new works at the library from January to February.
The art reception is scheduled for Saturday, January 27, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM at the Peachtree City Library, 201 Willowbend Road, Peachtree City, Georgia. The public is welcome. Follow the Peachtree City Library Art Initiative Facebook page. For more information, email [email protected].
