To help individuals and families better manage the often daunting responsibilities of caring for a loved one, Fayette Senior Services (FSS) will host its 2nd annual “We Are Here for You” Caregiver Resource Expo. The free event will be held on Thursday, May 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fayette Senior Services location in Fayetteville at the FSS Life Enrichment Center, 4 Center Drive (across from the Fayette County Justice Center). No registration is required.

The expo will provide meaningful information for caregivers and will feature nearly 20 exhibiters that provided services that are useful to the caregiver, including companion/sitter services, adult day care, home health services, and other resources designed to support the caregiver’s role.

Marie Doyle, Fayette Senior Services Care Manager explains, “Caregiving can be a very daunting experience unless you have support. It’s extremely important to take stock of what you can and can’t do, and look to other resources to help.” Doyle adds, “Our expo is an excellent avenue to find the right type of support to meet the caregiver’s needs.”

FSS’s Ultimate Cafe will be open to FSS members as well as expo attendees from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For more information about the event contact Marie Doyle 770-461-0813 ext. 104 or Morgan Smith ext. 129. To learn more about Fayette Senior Services visit www.FayetteLifeEnrichment.org.

According to the National Alliance for Caregiving, more than 65 million people in the United States provide care for a chronically ill, disabled, or aged family member or friend.

If you are among the millions of caregivers, you already know how emotionally and physically challenging this responsibility can be; but you may not be aware of the vast array of local resources available to provide you with much-needed assistance.
