The Optimist Club of Senoia will host its annual barbecue on Saturday, October 21, 2023. The barbecue will be held at the Senoia Farmers’ Market (40 Travis Street) from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. The proceeds from this fund raiser will be used to fight childhood cancer through the Aflac Cancer Center.

Food featured at the barbecue will include the traditional Senoia recipe of Brunswick stew prepared by Carl, Jim, and Ray McKnight plus Bill Underwood along with many volunteers. Pulled pork will be prepared by Fredene Wheelus.

All items are “to go”. Quarts of stew are $15, pounds of pulled pork are $18, and BBQ sandwiches are $8. Either contact an active member of the local Optimist Club or call 770-312-9300 or 302-981-4794 to place your order, especially if you won’t be able to make it on October 21st. You can also email the club at senoiaoptimistclub@gmailcom with your order or a question.

The Optimist Club of Senoia welcomes new members, and we encourage anyone with interest to reach out for more information about this event or the club. Meetings are normally held at 6:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. The current meeting site is the Senoia Area Historical Society located at 6 Couch Street in Senoia.
