The rehabilitation of Shenandoah Boulevard was approved April 3 by a unanimous vote of the Coweta County Commission.
Commissioners approved the $1.337 million low bid by C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. that will rehabilitate the roadway between Ga. Highway 34 and Lower Fayetteville Road.
County Director of Development and Engineering Wayne Kennedy in a March 16 letter said the work will consist of the contractor and design consultant working together in providing construction and engineering documents for the design-build project and performing the necessary tasks for the full depth reclamation project.
Project work could begin in early summer and is expected to take 6-8 months to complete.
Project bids were received on March 15. Additional bids for the project included Baldwin Paving at $1.443 million and E.R. Snell Contractor at $1.89 million.
The project is budgeted and is being funded through transportation funds.
