Joyce Ann Wright, passed away to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the age of 70, after a long battle with dementia. She was a faithful and caring woman to all who knew her, and she was a beloved mother and grandmother.

Joyce Ann was born on February 24, 1952 to Harvey Brown and Lucile Whitlock Brown in Newnan, Georgia. She grew up in Fayetteville, Georgia and graduated in 1969 from Fayette County High School. Soon after graduating, she would start her career with Southern Bell/ Bellsouth. In 1978 she married her husband John F. Wright, and together they had their son Michael Wright in January of 1987.

Joyce Ann would retire in 1999 from Bellsouth after 30 years of devoted service. She loved working in her yard, but most of all she loved her church and her church family at Sandy Creek Baptist Church. She was an active and caring woman who loved to help others in any way she could. She will be forever loved and remembered for her selfless spirit, loving nature, and placing the needs of others before her own.

Joyce Ann is survived by her son, Michael (Lily) Wright; her grandchildren, John (6) and Matthew (3) Wright; her sister, Margaret Brown Phillips; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband, John F. Wright; and her parents, Harvey Brown and Lucile Whitlock Brown.

Funeral services will be held at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Fayetteville on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Philip Johnson officiating. The family will have visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.
