Inman class digs for fossils

It was a day of discoveries as Kathy Whetstone’s Inman Elementary 3rd graders became amateur paleontologists with a fossil dig.

To cap off their unit on fossils, students reviewed what they had learned then carefully excavated compacted earth to uncover hidden dinosaurs. Afterwards, the student had to match their “find” to the correct information card.  They also created their own artifacts using play-doh and glue, then applied pressure to imprint their fossils.

Whetstone enjoyed helping her class become paleontologists for a day.
