Thieves in the early morning hours of March 5 made off with $8,000-10,000 in merchandise after burglarizing a Peachtree City package store.
Officers on March 5 at 4:41 a.m. responded to the Georgian Package store in the Kedron Village retail area on an alarm activation call.
Police reports noted that officers found that the glass in the store’s front door had been broken. Officers subsequently checked throughout the building but the burglars had gone.
The owner was notified and arrived on scene, telling officers that items were missing from inside the business and giving an estimated account for what was missing, as well as an estimated value for the stolen goods, according to reports.
Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Chris Hyatt said three or more people entered the store and stole a minimum of $8,000-10,000 of liquor.
In another case, Newnan resident Deonta M. Terrell, 24, was charged on March 4 with distributing obscene materials.
Hyatt said a local woman, who had been dating Terrell, said he sent photos and videos of her to a number of different people and threatened to post them on social media.
Hyatt said the photos and videos included the victim in an indecent state.
In a separate case, officers on March 5 responded to an Iron Oak Drive residence regarding a possible theft.
After discussing the situation with the complainant and his wife, it was determined that the older couple had been deceived in an internet scam and sent $41,500 in cash to two different addresses in California, said Hyatt.
