Ashley Elizabeth Smith and Joshua Andrew Christ were married at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church on Oct.1, 2011. The officiating minister was the Rev. Scott Hagan of Columbus. The bride is the daughter of Benjamin and Karen Smith of Fayetteville. The groom is the son of Tony Christ of Florida and Ms. Linda Christ of Canton.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her maid of honor was Carrie Waldrop of Fayetteville. Other bridesmaids were Sarah Richards and Karen Psiaki of Fayetteville, Elisa Egolf of Maryland, Autumn Weber of Virginia, and Jackie Congress of New York.

The groom’s best man was his brother, Anthony Christ of Atlanta. Other groomsmen were Brian Smith of Fayetteville, Jordan Martin of New York, Chris Duncan of Atlanta, Paul Bean of Florida, and Charles Christ of Canton.

The bride is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is currently attending Virginia Osteopathic School of Medicine, where she will graduate in 2013 with a doctoral in osteopathic medicine. The groom is a graduate of the University of Georgia. He is employed as a retail manager with Morrison Management Specialists.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Flat Creek Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. Christ honeymooned in Los Cabos, Mexico and now reside in Spartanburg, S.C.
