Spring Hill Elem. Hosts ‘Nacho Average Math Night’

Spring Hill Elementary hosted “Nacho Average Math Night” to help families take a bite out of their studies.

Spring Hill 5th grade teacher and Title I contact Katie Gay identified the need for a math night. She worked with parent liaison Cara Colson and the Title I Action Team to organize an evening where families could gather to engage in educational activities and games that can be played at home. Attendees received resources to support their understanding of the standards and curriculum and learned strategies straight from their teachers.

It was themed “Nacho Average Math Night” to spice it up with a fun atmosphere, and the school’s PTO served nachos during the event. The event was open to students from Pre-K through fifth grade, and all families were encouraged to attend.

Gay was glad to see so many engaged families participate.

“Our goal is to provide meaningful activities, resources, and support to strengthen our community’s mathematical skills and confidence.”
