Sandy Creek High hosted their annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony. Led by the Air Force JROTC Cadet Corp, the memorial for the 25th anniversary featured performances by the school’s orchestra and choir, along with remarks from first responders and 25-year Army veteran Dr. Aaron Tyler.
Principal Tosha Oliver spoke to the students who were not born on that day and urged them to understand the importance.
“You did not experience the uncertainty of that morning or witness firsthand the remarkable unity that followed, and that is precisely why ceremonies like this matter,” Oliver said. “The responsibility for remembering will pass to your generation. You will become the keepers of this history.”
