A Fayette County–based production company founded by filmmaker and stunt performer Courtney Chen has completed its first feature film and is now in post-production, marking a milestone for the Georgia-grown studio.

Dynasty Films recently wrapped principal photography on When Hearts Brew, a faith-based romantic comedy written, directed, and produced by Chen. The film is expected to complete post-production this winter, with plans for streaming distribution in early 2026.

Shot entirely in Georgia with a local cast and crew, When Hearts Brew follows the intertwined lives of a struggling writer and a warm-hearted barista whose repeated encounters at a neighborhood coffee shop slowly evolve into an unexpected love story. The film leans into character-driven storytelling and everyday moments, offering a clean, family-friendly romance rooted in Christian values.

Chen, a Peachtree City resident and Georgia native, said completing the project represents the fulfillment of a long-held goal.

“Georgia has given me my career, my lifelong friends, and my creative community,” Chen said. “It only felt right that Dynasty Films’ first feature was shot here with the people who inspire me daily. When Hearts Brew is proof of what small but passionate teams in this state can accomplish.”

Before launching Dynasty Films, Chen spent more than a decade working in the film industry as a stunt performer and actress. Her credits include major studio productions such as Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, The Suicide Squad, and Fallen. She said that experience shaped her transition into directing and producing.

“I was really inspired to go into directing and producing,” Chen said in an interview. “I wanted to create more meaningful, values-driven content and build something of my own here in Georgia.”

Although Dynasty Films is based in Fayette County, filming took place in locations around metro Atlanta and Rome. The cast is made up of Georgia-based actors, including Agnes Mayasari, Paul S. Vang, Trevor Santiago, and Vanessa Cozart.

Chen said the film is designed to be accessible to a wide audience.

“It’s something you can watch with the family,” she said. “I don’t make content that isn’t appropriate.”

With post-production nearing completion, Chen is currently in discussions with distribution companies and hopes to announce streaming details early next year. She also plans to host a premiere for cast and crew once distribution is finalized.

When Hearts Brew marks the first completed feature for Dynasty Films, but Chen said it is only the beginning.

For a Fayette County–based company built by a Georgia-grown filmmaker, she said, the journey is just getting started.
