All year long, the hard working heroes of the Fayette County Public Schools Nutrition Program serve up delicious meals for students and staff. To send them off to summer, they were invited to par-tea at an employee appreciation tea.

Hanna Brothers prepared a wonderful spread that started with tea sandwiches and mini-sweets leading into steak and salmon with sumptuous sides and finished with a selection of four different cakes.

As part of the festivities, Maria Garcia of McIntosh High was voted “Best Dressed” among many who arrived in their finest tea party attire. Mike Jones added musical ambience with his saxophone, and door prizes were another added bonus.

School Nutrition Director Kokeeta Wilder was thrilled to see the pros have a day to kick back and be celebrated. Over the course of the year, they served over 1,575,000 lunches, 363,000 breakfasts, and 25,000 snacks.

“They have served meals all school year, so we wanted someone to cook for them,” said Wilder.
