With more than 30 years of rose-growing experience, Cindy Dale is a Master Rosarian and both the newsletter editor and roadshow chair for the American Rose Society. A proud and involved member with the South Metro Rose Society, a chapter of the American Rose Society, Dale has cultivated 285 rose bushes on her half-acre property.
Dale’s extensive training and dedication had earned her the title of a consulting rosarian, and after ten years in that role, has achieved the title of Master Rosarian. Recertified every four years, she provides expert advice-free of charge-to those looking to begin and improve their own rose gardens. She also shares her own pamphlet, 10 Steps to Growing Great Roses, which covers the fundamentals of caring for the beautiful flower.
At the recent South Metro Rose Society’s 38th Annual Rose Show, Dale had nine of her roses displayed on the head table, where all of the top winning roses are showcased. Though it means cutting some of her best roses, she takes pride and joy in being able to contribute to the event and connecting with members of the community.
“I can talk to the people about how to grow them and how to join the Rose Society, so that we can mentor them and help them grow the same type of roses,” said Dale.
For Dale, roses are more than just flowers- they’re family. “I call them my kids,” Dale said. “When I’m just by myself, it’s such a stress reliever to go out and be with them and amongst them. I love it.”
