The Fayette County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers will hold a plant sale on Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Fayette Education Garden. The garden is located behind the Fayette County Administrative Complex and across from the Fayette County Public Library at 1821 Heritage Parkway.
Master Gardener Extension Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the plants for sale and in the garden. Several volunteers will also teach classes on site: Natives (10 a.m.) and Herbs (10:30 a.m.).
Many of the plants offered for sale were grown or propagated by Master Gardener Extension Volunteers. Examples of available items include blueberries, blackberries, azaleas, fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, succulents, perennials, house plants, natives, and pollinator plants. Cash, checks, and credit cards (except AMEX) will be accepted for payment.
Proceeds from the plant sale help fund the various extension programs, such as the Plant-a-Row for the Hungry Garden, the Fayette Education Garden, the Veterans Memorial Garden, and the Pollinator Trail, which consists of a group of school and community pollinator gardens planted and maintained by Fayette County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers.
The mission of the UGA extension is to extend lifelong learning to Georgia citizens through unbiased, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth, and families. In addition to the Master Gardener program, the extension office provides soil and water testing, diagnostics and plant identification, as well as free or low-cost homeowner classes.
For more information or to be added to the mailing list for upcoming events and classes, please call the extension office at 770-305-5412, send an email to fayette.extension@uga.edu, or fill out the contact form on the website at https://extension.uga.edu/county-offices/fayette/contact-us.html
