The Fayette County High chapter continues to demonstrate excellence, earning the Silver Chapter of Excellence Award for the second consecutive year at the 2025 SkillsUSA Georgia State Leadership & Skills Conference.
This year, Fayette County High sent 29 talented Tigers to the state competition, showcasing their skills across various categories. Among the outstanding achievements, the WTGR Broadcast News Team of Joseph Braxton, Matthew Furtch, Shelby Stieff, and Donovan Veasey took 1st place out of 16 competing teams in the highly competitive Video News Production category. Their victory secures them a spot at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta this summer.
In individual placements, Cadence Hill was the Silver medalist in Georgia Pin Design, and Lauren Stradford was the Bronze Medalist in Facilithon-Leadership in Facility Management.
“We are incredibly proud of all our competitors for their dedication, hard work, and professionalism,” said Diana Johnson, Fayette County High SkillsUSA co-advisor. “Their success reflects the strength of our SkillsUSA program and the support from our school and community.”
