15-year-old Madison Gesswein was murdered in her own bedroom two years ago, February 20, 2023. Shockingly, this was in Peachtree City, in Fayette County. It was covered by all the news outlets. Here are links to two of them. https://people.com/teen-snuck-in-through-the-window-and-killed-girl-15-found-in-pool-of-blood-8692734 and https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/fayette-county/15-year-old-girl-shot-death-her-bedroom-1-suspect-just-learned-his-fate/MW5KYASFPVA6ZGEVULKR6N2OJY/

Madison was a fine Christian young lady, attended her church regularly, was a good student and well behaved and well liked at school. Her murder was astoundingly heinous and shocking, and at no fault of hers whatsoever.

Since her murder, her single-parent mother Nancy Finch and her autistic brother have had a horrific series of life events. Excruciating and debilitating grief, the trauma of three trials of the accused, and extreme financial difficulties have overtaken them.

This grief-stricken mother and her autistic adult son have fallen farther and farther behind in their financial obligations. They recently were on the verge of being evicted from their apartment. The apartment complex was calling for the $6,000 she owed in back rent and a guarantee of rent money in the future.

Nancy’s Women’s Bible Study Group set up a GoFundMe account to avert that immediate disaster and to serve as a rental assistance program for future months when Nancy may have trouble making ends meet. That account did indeed rise to meet her need to avoid eviction, pay her next month’s rent, and is now still growing to be the assistance program in the future.

We say thank you very much to all of you who have already contributed to this most worthy local cause. And thank you very much for your prayers. God bless you.

Please note, Nancy is quite capable and employed, but has missed so much work. She wants to get back into a full-time work schedule. She is gifted and talented and capable of earning a living. Caring for her autistic son brings great challenges, of course.

Even though they are beloved by so many, they have no immediate family and no friends in a position to take them in with their furniture and life-long belongings. In addition, they are desperately also trying to hold onto and take care of the pets Madison loved so much and left behind at her death.

Perhaps the touch of God, the gravity of this situation, the horrific slaughter of a beautiful young life, and the dire financial consequences of this grieving mother will move you to want to participate in this noble cause.

Yes, in all honesty, this is a friendly call for Peachtree City and Fayette County to please rise up and let’s take care of one of our own.

Here is the link to the GoFundMe page if you want to find it. This money will only be used as her rent assistance fund. https://gofund.me/413cd3bb
