Students win at region literacy days

Local students performed well at the Griffin RESA 2024-2025 Regional Literacy Days Competition.

In the middle school division, Rising Starr’s Evie Hostetler won for 6th grade Poetry Recitation, and Karis Helm won for 7th grade Poetry Recitation.

Clayton Mayfield of Whitewater Middle placed 3rd for 8th grade Poetry Recitation.

In the elementary division, Amelia White of Peeples Elementary won for 4th grade Poetry Recitation.

Shanice Campbell of Braelinn Elementary placed 2nd for 5th grade Poetry Recitation, and Isaac McDougal of Robert J. Burch Elementary placed 2nd for 3rd grade Poetry Recitation.

The Griffin RESA Regional Literacy Days Festival includes students from the school systems of Butts, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Newton, Pike, Spalding, and Upson counties.
