High schools calculate wins at region math contest

It was a clean sweep for Fayette at the 2025 Griffin RESA Regional High School Math Contest.

McIntosh High won Division III for larger schools. Starr’s Mill High won Division II for medium schools. Whitewater High won Division 1 for smaller schools, with Sandy Creek High in 2nd place.

Vedita Sawhney of McIntosh repeated as the individual overall winner. Zimri Cauble of Starr’s Mill finished 2nd with Carpenter Ray of Whitewater in 3rd.

The Griffin RESA High School Math Contest is a regional competition among high schools in the Griffin RESA region which consists of the following school systems: Butts, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Newton, Pike, Spalding, and Upson. Over 20 high schools and 100 students participated.
