Kedron Elementary 1st graders brought their studies of 3D shapes to life by crafting shape robots.

The Knights have been studying 2D and 3D shapes and learning to identify their defining attributes. They put their knowledge into action by combining different real-life objects to create shape robots.

Students worked in teams to collaboratively plan which shapes they wanted to use in their creations. Teams then assembled their robot and presented them to their class, sharing what 3D objects they used and the attributes that were associated with their objects.

“We hope that our students were able to learn more about shapes and their unique attributes by using and manipulating 3D shapes that are real-life objects,” said teacher Kari Reynolds-Winiarczyk.
