Over the next year we hope to feature the best and brightest athletes in our community through Athlete of the Week, honoring one athlete at each local school. Expect The Citizen to roll them out as we get cooperation and assistance from our local athletic directors. We honor winners and we give special thanks to Mahaffey Linkous Orthodontics for sponsoring this feature section.
Each week, the feature will include the athlete’s name, their sport, and a photo, along with notable highlights about their performance, as shared by their coach or athletic director. During the summer months, we’ll shift the spotlight to graduating seniors who have earned athletic scholarships, celebrating their high school accomplishments and revealing where their journey will continue.

Sport: Basketball
Coach’s Note: Jason averaged 13 pts, 11 Rebs and 4 blocks in wins Vs Northside and Whitewater. He’s been the anchor of our defense and the centerpiece of our offense.
While this week features only one school, we look forward to including athletes from additional schools in the coming weeks as more coaches and athletic directors participate in this exciting new program.
