As a follow-up to the Peachtree City Planning Commission meeting on September 23, Strada Communities and Thrive Senior Living will be holding an information session on Wednesday, October 16, 5:30 p.m. at the Crown Plaza/Peachtree City Conference Center, 201 Aberdeen Parkway.

The meeting will be in the Tara Room in the Welcome Center. All are welcome.

The session is to allow the public a chance to ask the developers more about their 175-unit senior apartment building proposed for 14 acres on the west side of the Crown Plaza property.

The apartments are intended for “active seniors” whose average age is above 80, the developers told the planning commission in an earlier session, and will rent for $4,500 to 5,000 a month.

The commission postponed a vote on the plan until after the information session.

Whether the commission decides to recommend approval or disapproval, the plan automatically moves forward to the City Council for a vote before the end of the year.

The property is currently zoned for commercial uses, and the developer is asking for a residential zoning.
