A Senoia man has been accused of the murder of Newnan resident Jordan Simon, 14, according to Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith.

Simon was killed last month in rural Meriwether County, Smith said. No motive was given.

The suspect, Thaddeus Stokes, 23, of Senoia, was apprehended on October 4, following a joint investigation by local law enforcement agencies.

The investigation uncovered evidence linking the suspect to the murder of Jordan Simon, who was found deceased on Rocky Mount Road on the evening of September 25th, 2024. The suspect has been charged with multiple felonies, including malice murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

“We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the investigators in this and the support from the Newnan Police Department’s and the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Smith. “This is a senseless tragedy, and we are committed to seeing justice served for Jordan Simon and his family.”

The investigation is still active, but there are no other known suspects currently. Sheriff Smith confirmed that authorities will continue to follow all leads and ensure a thorough examination of the case.

“At this stage of the investigation, we believe we have apprehended the individual responsible for this crime, but we will remain vigilant in our investigation to ensure all bases are covered,” said the Sheriff.

The suspect is currently being held at the Meriwether County Jail without bond. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office at 706-672-4236.
