A former Panther was the pick on the NFL’s biggest stage. Starr’s Mill High alum Cole Bishop was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the 2nd round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Bishop played defensive back for three seasons for the University of Utah before declaring early for this year’s draft. He joins fellow SMHS alum Sam Martin, a recent school Hall of Fame inductee, on the Bills.

This marks the second-straight year a local alum has been selected high in the NFL Draft. Last year, Sandy Creek’s Brian Branch was picked in the 2nd round by the Detroit Lions.
