Historical figures filled the school as North Fayette Elementary 3rd graders completed research projects including a bottle model.

Focusing on a number of key English Language Arts standards, combined with a celebration of Black History Month, the project saw students select a person to study, write a short essay, and a create a bottle model of them. Students were introduced to kid-safe and user-friendly websites to find information, and they also had research lessons with the school media specialist. With class time and teacher guidance, they were able to dig in-depth on their profiles.

Students presented their projects in class, then they went on display for the school to enjoy as part of their Black History Month program. The finished products included icons like Stevie Wonder and Jackie Robinson.
