Yet another major drug offender found himself in custody in Fayette County on multiple felony charges simply because of the tint on his windshield.

Officials with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said that was the reason for a routine traffic stop April 1 shortly before 10 a.m. at the intersection of southbound Hwy. 279 and Hwy. 138. Deputies found an extraordinary amount of drugs in the vehicle, including:

• About two-and-a-quarter pounds of marijuana.

• Nearly 44 grams of mushrooms (psilocybin).

• A total of 94 Xanax pills.

• More than 30 pills of MDMA (Ecstasy).

• Six baby bottles containing codeine.

All of this added up to five felony charges for the driver, listed on the report as Charles Wooten, 54, of Ray City. According to the Fayette County Jail log, he faces two counts of trafficking in illegal drugs and three counts of drug possession/sale/manufacture.

Oh, and a traffic violation for excessive window tint.
