Wildcats, Patriots qualify for DECA Internationals

Wildcats and Patriots are headed to internationals. With strong showings at this year’s DECA State Career Development Conference, nine Whitewater High and four Sandy Creek High students qualified to compete in the international competition.

Whitewater High’s team was lead by Zaire Brown who won 1st place in Business Services Marketing. Leah Johnson placed 2nd in Professional Selling. Naomi Martin finished 4th in Food Marketing. Paxton Benoit finished 8th in Principles of Finance. Raigan Young and Destiny Cameron finished 8th in SBE Competition. The trio of Zaire Brown, Haley Casey, and Eva Chance placed 5th in Start-up Business Plan.

Aida Coullias is Whitewater’s DECA advisor.

Sandy Creek will also be well-represented at Internationals.

Sage Moore and Parris Johnson placed 2nd overall in Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making. Darius Bartley and Christlyn Andrews qualified in Financial Services Team Decision Making.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

The DECA International Career Development Conference will be help April 27-30, 2024 in Anaheim, California.
