Southern Crescent Chorale’s sixteenth Spivey Hall appearance features magnificent choral music composed or arranged by Dan Forrest on Sunday, March 10.

An acclaimed composer, Forrest’s music has become well-established in the repertoire of choirs universally. Accompanied by a small orchestra, and Spivey Hall’s magnificent Albert Schweitzer Memorial Organ, the Chorale will transport you with glorious music. “Requiem for the Living”, the centerpiece of this concert, is a “transcendent prayer for peace and rest, based on the liturgical Requiem texts but also interspersing other texts.

From the opening Introit-Kyrie to the aggressive Vanitas Vanitatum, the heavenly Agnus Dei, ethereal Sanctus, and a deeply peaceful Lux Aeterna, this work has had a powerful impact on choirs and audiences around the world.”(danforrest.com)

Refreshing folk and hymn arrangements by Forrest, as well as piano and organ solos, will round out this extraordinary afternoon of great music.

Sponsored by Dr. Frank and Deb Cole, the concert begins at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10. Tickets, $25 for adults and $20 for students, may be purchased by visiting www.spiveyhall.org  or calling (678) 466-4200.
