High schools dominate at region math contest

It was nearly a clean sweep for Fayette at the 2024 Griffin RESA Regional High School Math Contest.

McIntosh High won Division III for larger schools. Starr’s Mill High won Division II for medium schools, with Whitewater in 2nd place. Sandy Creek finished in 2nd place in Division I for smaller schools.

Vedita Sawhney of McIntosh was the individual overall winner, with Rush Maples of Starr’s Mill in 2nd place and Harsh Singh of McIntosh in 3rd place.

The Griffin RESA High School Math Contest is a regional competition among high schools in the Griffin RESA region which consists of the following school systems: Butts, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Newton, Pike, Spalding, and Upson.
