Deputies: Fayetteville man stabs 2 roommates

A Fayetteville man is behind bars after allegedly stabbing his roommates.

Deputies, criminal investigators and crime scene investigators responded Jan. 30 at approximately 7:38 p.m. to a call regarding a stabbing incident on Pine Knott Road in Fayetteville, according to a statement from Sheriff Barry Babb’s office.

Upon arrival, deputies quickly apprehended the suspect, who was identified as Thomas Boykin, 51, of Fayetteville. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated battery.

Neighbors at the scene reported that two people came to their home asking for medical assistance. Both of them were suffering from multiple stab wounds and immediately transported to the closest trauma center, where they were in later reported to be in stable condition.

Officials said this is believed to be an isolated incident and the investigation is ongoing.

“The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office commends the quick response of all involved parties, including the neighbors, public safety dispatchers, law enforcement officers, and emergency medical services,” said Babb. “Their collective efforts have contributed to the successful apprehension of the suspect and the safety of our community.”
