UPDATE: According to Fitness 54’s Facebook page, the gym reopened on New Years day, less than two weeks after the pre-Christmas fire.

A fire Saturday, December 23, in the men’s sauna damaged the well-known gymnasium and fitness center on Ga. Highway 54 just east of Peachtree City.
The fire caused some interior damage. which closed the gym to the public. The gym’s Facebook post said on the day after Christmas that a 15-person crew is at work repairing the building.
“They are trying to get us open by New Year’s Day. A lot will depend upon permitting by the City,” the Facebook post said.
