Smile, your theft from Zaxby’s cash drawers is on video

’Tis the season for customer and employee theft.

Note to all: Cameras are everywhere.

According to reports, a Peachtree City officer responded Dec. 14 to Zaxby’s on Hwy. 74 S. in reference to a theft and was met by the store manager as well as the district manager. Along with other pertinent information about the case, store management provided police with video of an employee taking money from the cash drawer. A warrant was signed by a judge for the arrest of Kingsley Patnubay, 19, for theft by taking and he was arrested on that charge.

Elsewhere in Peachtree City, an officer conducted a Dec. 13 traffic stop on a Chevy Silverado on Hwy. 74 near Crosstown Drive. The driver was found to be in possession of more than two pounds of marijuana and some THC oil, along with a loaded handgun and an AR-style .300 BLK rifle, according to the report.

Cory Brownlee, 39, of Senoia was arrested and transported to Fayette County Jail, facing felony drug and weapon charges as well as traffic violations.

The next day, in the same area, a traffic stop was made after police data indicated the registered driver of the vehicle had an active warrant. The warrant was confirmed out of Griffin. Jabril Starks, 33, was placed under arrest.

After a call came in regarding a physical altercation, a golf cart was spotted in the wee hours of Dec. 14 traveling at a high rate of speed through the parking lot and onto the sidewalk in front of Big Daddy’s Oyster Bar on Crossings East. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Alexander Slusher, 23, for driving under the influence of alcohol.

A car was seen Dec. 14 driving in the area of Hwy. 74 and Wilshire with a fake license plate. When stopped, the driver refused to provide his name or license to officers. Barry Graham, 45, was arrested and charged with resisting or interfering with an officer, driving on a suspended license and other traffic charges, according to a police report.

A traffic stop was made Dec. 14 Hwy. 74 near Wisdom Shell on a white Dodge Ram pulling a mini-excavator. The driver was found to be committing identity fraud and in possession of controlled substances. Montez Walker, 37, was arrested and taken to Fayette County Jail.
