PEACHTREE CITY (August 24, 2023) – Laura Plauché Johnson announces her candidacy for Peachtree City’s city council. A former small business owner and involved mother and wife with kids enrolled in Peachtree City elementary, middle and high schools, she is in touch with our community and shares our values.
“Our city needs a fresh conservative voice on the council and I am ready to get to work on Day 1,” Plauché Johnson said. “I ask for your support as I champion sound fiscal policy, public safety, and economic opportunity; and work tirelessly to preserve our village concept and outdoor spaces.”
“We need fresh ideas and collaboration–not someone who believes they have all the answers already,” Plauché Johnson continued. “I am eager to listen and get input from everyday citizens because that will make our city the best it can be.”
Plauché Johnson moved to Peachtree City with her parents and nine siblings in 1991, graduated from Sandy Creek High School, and went on to the University of West Georgia where she studied economics. She and her husband Stan Johnson have been married for 23 years.
While they’ve raised their five children here, Laura has been extremely active in the community. She ran her own business for six years, served as a room parent and in various parent-teacher organizations, volunteers in her church, organized and managed budgets for large-scale youth camps and other events, and stepped up as a substitute teacher when our schools needed it — something she does regularly and actively enjoys.
Plauché Johnson filed at the end of last week. There are two open seats on the ballot this November due to the expiring terms of two separate city council members.
