“The Tyrone Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is excited to unveil ‘Neighbors,’ a fresh culinary venture set to help revitalize the heart of Tyrone,” according to a news release from the authority.

After a proposal and interview process, the “Neighbors” team will partner with the DDA to renovate the old firehouse in the heart of Tyrone’s Town Center District (Downtown) across from Town Hall.

“This innovative project will transform the property into a modern restaurant, breathing new life into Tyrone’s core,” the news release said.

“At the forefront of this endeavor is Executive Chef Collins Woods, a Fayette County native celebrated for his culinary expertise working with singer/songwriter Zac Brown at Camp Southern Ground and as his personal chef,” the news release said.

The news release continues: “While Collins has catered to stars from Chris Hemsworth to Emeril Lagasse, bringing his unique Southern flavors to his home in Fayette County holds a special place in his heart.

“I’ve long dreamed of this,’ Collins said in the news release. “Crafting a memorable meal is an art — from selecting quality ingredients to passionate execution. ‘Neighbors’ is the culmination of this vision, and I can’t wait to share it with Tyrone.”

The essence of “Neighbors” goes beyond just food, Collins said, and he “envisions it as a hometown hangout, reminiscent of a backyard barbecue where everyone is family. “It’s about community and connections. Good neighbors care for each other, and good food brings them together. That’s the spirit we’re infusing into ‘Neighbors’,” he added.

The chairman of the Tyrone Downtown Development Authority, Billy Campbell, stated that the DDA was “looking forward to working with Mr. Woods” and that “this will be a great partnership to kickstart the great things happening in Town.”
