Law enforcement authorities arrested a Stone Mountain for robbing a Fayette County resident last month.
According to a statement from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Demari Deshun Lee, 20, was taken into custody April 12 at his home and transported to the Fayette County Jail. He is being held without bond.
He is charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, pointing a pistol at another, cruelty to children in the first degree, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.
The incident in question occurred at about 5 p.m. March 24. According to reports, a 15-year-old victim reported being robbed at gunpoint in his Rocky Fork neighborhood off McDonough Road. The juvenile had posted on Facebook Marketplace that he had clothing items for sale, which is what led to the meeting.
The victim was not injured during the incident, authorities said.
The FCSO thanked the U.S. Marshals’ Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force for its assistance in Lee’s apprehension.
Officials urge local residents to use a safe public place such as a police station for making transactions based on listings on social media and the internet.
Maybe we should build that wall…
Speak with a PTC cop and you will find that we now have many electronic ways to know who is entering our city on all of the roads in and out in real time.
Our guys are actually seeing them and getting them off the streets.
Demari Deshun Lee, 20, if found guilty, will go away for a long time.
Stone Mountain should send a thank you card to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
We spend a lot of time disposing of Metro Atlanta’s trash that blows our way.
