High schools win big at regional math contest

Fayette County Public Schools won big at the 2023 Griffin RESA Regional High School Math Contest.

Starr’s Mill High swept the individual winners podium with Richard Wang in 1st, Alex Yang in 2nd, and Tito Alofe in 3rd.

In Division II for medium schools, Starr’s Mill won with Whitewater High in 2nd place.

McIntosh High won Division III for larger schools.

Sandy Creek High placed 3rd in Division I for smaller schools.

The Griffin RESA High School Math Contest is a regional competition among high schools in the Griffin RESA region which consists of the following school systems: Butts, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Newton, Pike, Spalding, and Upson. Over 21 high schools and 105 students participated.
