McIntosh and Starr’s Mill boys and girls varsity soccer teams face off in the 2023 Battle for the Troops Thursday, March 30, at McIntosh High School. The schools are honoring hometown heroes and competitively raising funds for the charity Wear Blue: Run to Remember during the event.

The evening includes a Battle for the Troops Ceremony honoring Daniel Berschinski along with Alan Reeves and Leon Hammond followed by a flyover.

The mission of Wear Blue: Run to Remember is to honor the service and sacrifice of the American military through active remembrance. (Click here to watch wear blue on Good Morning America.)

Donations will be accepted prior to the games and throughout this evening’s matches, and totals from McIntosh and Starr’s Mill will be tallied at the end of the boys’ game to determine who raised the most. QR codes will be circulated around the stadium directing fans to a donation page. Please see the QR codes around the stadium to make a donation.

The girls’ game begins at 5:45 pm. The boys’ game begins at 8:00. The ceremony, followed by a flyover, is scheduled for 7:43 pm. Fans can expect a wonderful night honoring our hometown heroes while enjoying a great soccer rivalry.

McIntosh High School is the host for this year’s event, which takes place at the school’s stadium, 201 Walt Banks Road, Peachtree City. Tickets for the evening may be purchased through GoFan. Cash for tickets is not accepted at the door.

Concession stands will serve a selection of Chick-fil-A sandwiches and nuggets, drinks, candy, popcorn, and chips. Please come hungry and plan to stay for both games.

Fans can support their team and a great cause prior to the event. The process is fast, easy, and secure. Donate now directly to the Wear Blue: Run to Remember on behalf of each school by clicking here:
