The Crocodiles got creative on Constitution Day as all students at Cleveland Elementary created their own writing utensils so they could sign their names like the Founding Fathers.

To better understand the purpose of Constitution Day, the STEAM lesson provided background knowledge on the founding of our country. Students learned about the signing of the Constitution and were then challenged to create a writing utensil for the framers of the Constitution to use.

Students had to use at least two items from a list of supplies (cotton balls, popsicle sticks, straws, rubber bands, index cards, masking tape) in their designs. They tested their success by signing their own name.
