Beanstack Fall Reading Challenge:

Tuesday, November 1st—Wednesday, December 28th, 2022
Read 2 books per month and be entered into a drawing to win a prize each month. Drawings will be held at the end of each month on November 30th and December 31st. One winner per drawing. Register through Beanstack at https://frrls.beanstack.org, download the Beanstack App, or by visiting the Peachtree City Library website at https://peachtree-city.org/library.

 

First Line Literary Contest: A NaNoWriMo Event:

Submissions Accepted: Tuesday, November 1st—Saturday, November 19th, 2022

Give us your best opening line for an imaginary novel in any topic or genre. Your first sentence must draw us in and leave us wanting more. Contest is open to Elementary, Middle, High School, and Adults. Submissions must be original and one sentence in length (300 characters maximum). You may submit more than one entry, but there will only be one prize per person. Submit online, print, or pick up a form at PTC Library Circulation Desk. Winners will be announced on November 30th. Join the Peachtree City Library staff for conversational Spanish. Are you already learning Spanish? Come have a chat and practice your conversational skills. For ages 14+ and all skill levels. No previous experience necessary. This is a drop-in event, no registration required.

Jennifer Coburn: Book Talk & Signing:

Friday, November 11th, 2022, 11:00am —Floy Farr Room

Based on true events, Jennifer Coburn‘s CRADLES OF THE REICH was inspired by the largely untold stories of the Lebensborn program, Himmler’s state supported housing for young women whose sole purpose was to give birth to pure blooded Aryan children to be raised by SS families as future leaders of the new Nazi Germany. On-site book sales available courtesy of Book Miser. This is a free, drop-in event. This event will take place on the lower level of the library in the Floy Farr Room.

Join the Peachtree City Library for three write-in sessions scheduled this month for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)! NaNoWriMo began in 1999 as a daunting but straightforward challenge: to write 50,000 words of a novel in 30 days. Hopeful writers can find their local NaNoWriMo chapter and get connected virtually at https://nanowrimo.org. Young writers are welcome here at https://ywp.nanowrimo.org. These are drop-in events, no registration required.

Karen Grassle: After Hours Book Talk & Signing:

Monday, November 14th, 2022, 6:00pm —Floy Farr Room

An “after-hours” book talk and signing with Karen Grassle, author of Bright Lights, Prairie Dust. We know Karen Grassle best as the actress playing the strong prairie woman Caroline Ingalls, but here is the complex, funny, rebellious, and soulful woman we didn’t know. On-site book sales available courtesy of Book Miser. This is a drop-in event. The event will take place on the lower level of the library in the Floy Farr Room. Please enter the library through the lower level entrance at the back of the library.

Adult Pick-Up Craft Week: Paper Bag Stars:
