Special guests offer Whitewater class looks at potential careers

A lucky group at Whitewater High has been getting a sneak peek into the future. For the career unit in his Intro to Law, Public Safety, Security, and Corrections classes, teacher Scott Schmitt has has been bringing special guests to talk about their jobs.

Special Agent Paul McClanahan with the United States Secret Service spoke on the process of becoming an agent, how he became an agent, and what the Secret Service actually does. He also led the students through a hands-on activity to identify counterfeit bills.

Other guests were Assistant Chief Scott Roberts with Fayette County Fire & Emergency Services, who spoke about careers in fire services, and David Studdard, Chief Assistant District Attorney with the Griffin Judicial Circuit, who spoke about how a case begins and the process through a case.
