The Patriots are used to being the kings of their diamond, but they were just there to support the real stars of the show for a night of baseball at the Field of Hope. Members of Sandy Creek High’s baseball program recently volunteered to help make a night playing America’s Pastime extra special.

The Field of Hope is home to the Challenger Division of Peachtree City Little League, enabling boys and girls with physical and mental challenges to enjoy the game of baseball. Sandy Creek’s players and coaches were right in the middle of the fun, offering pointers and cheering on the players.

The Patriots loved making new fans and new friends.

“Each week we try to have a focus on something to make us better. This past week our focus was making someone around us better. Instead of worrying about ourselves as players, we focused on our teammates and community,” said Sandy Creek coach Nick Pou. “We can often learn more by coaching and volunteering than by participating on the field like they are used to.”
