A Fort Valley woman is facing multiple charges for defrauding a local elderly couple out of $2,000 in December by using a banking app.
Breonna C. Armstrong, 28, was charged with eight counts of financial identity fraud and eight counts of elder abuse, according to Fayette County Jail records.
Sheriff Barry Babb said Armstrong was not known to the couple, but was able to withdraw approximately $2,000 from an account held by the couple by using the Zelle banking app.
Babb said the incident is still being investigated.
