With the demand of non-emergency medical transportation services in Fayette County, FSS’
fleet drives hundreds of thousands of miles a year putting much wear and tear on their vehicles. This has created the need to replace at least two vehicles each year. FSS is currently accepting donations to help purchase a new van that will have a great impact on those receiving this invaluable service. The simple task of driving a car is not an option to many seniors in Fayette County. As the leading provider for low-cost transportation services available in the county, this team delivers seniors to crucial doctor visits, dialysis, and pharmacy pick-ups on a daily basis. Fayette Senior Services is the only option for many in our community to get to their life saving treatments at an affordable cost. Jeff Wix, FSS Transportation Manager, sees firsthand the impact it plays in lives of so many: “Seeing the relief of our clients when we arrive and hearing the appreciation of having a reliable and safe ride really puts into perspective how we take for granted our own ability to drive ourselves. I constantly hear ‘I don’t know what I would do without FSS and this service’ and it is apparent how needed it truly is. We are proud to be able to offer this to seniors in our community,” shares Wix. Every donation counts, small or large, and each donation plays a major role in the life of someone receiving this incredible service.
