Inspired by a favorite book, the Peeples Rockets want to inspire smiles around the school with a kindness quilt.

While celebrating Kindness Week, 4th and 5th grade students read “The Kindness Quilt” by Nancy Elizabeth Wallace. Seeing how acts of kindness can change the world, the class created their very own kindness quilt where positive quotes, writings on friendship, and artwork inspired by kindness were featured. Students are encouraged to add on to the quilt, just like in the story.

“Our hope for our students is two-fold,” said teacher Victoria Saxon. “We wanted to give the students authentic experiences based on our standards and also to empower them so that they can see firsthand their actions can make a difference.”
