FCHS’s Rhoden honored for music education

Dr. Myra Rhoden, the Director of Bands at Fayette County High, was recently recognized by her peers for her tremendous dedication to music education. At the Midwest Clinic International Band, Orchestra, and Music Conference, Dr. Rhoden was honored with both the Tau Beta Sigma Outstanding Service to Music Award and the Women Band Directors International Golden Rose Award.

The 75th Annual Midwest Clinic, hosted in Chicago, featured more than 100 clinic sessions, 4 rehearsal labs, 3 new music reading sessions, and 50 performances by ensembles from around the world. Each year, the Midwest Clinic gathers more than 18,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 40 countries in the spirit of celebrating and furthering music education.
