Kedron Elementary loves learning about different cultures, and the holidays are no different. Students are learning about traditions celebrated around the world, and Cassandra Hornung is taking learning to a new level in her media center.
Coinciding with the second day of Hanukkah, Hornung read the book “The Parakeet Named Dreidel” by Isaac Bashevis Singer with all of the kindergarten classes.
“Kindergartners were able to identify characters, setting, and cause/effect relationships within the plot,” said Hornung. “Students enjoyed learning about Hanukkah and sharing connections to the story about their own pets.”
