Students treat themselves to s’mores

Sara Harp Minter Elementary students are resourceful, and they put their bright minds to the test to make themselves a tasty treat. Students in 3rd grade capped off their heat unit in science class by using solar ovens to make s’mores. The students had been learning about the effects of sunlight on various objects and were tasked with designing a device that would increase the effects of sunlight to melt their chocolate.
