The families of Fayette County know their students are served by a top-notch team, and now the rest of the country is getting a peak at the excellence of the Fayette County School Nutrition Program. The local school program was recently featured in a FoodService Director Magazine article about reaching customers during a pandemic.
The article, “Building customer connections while social distancing endures,” highlighted programs using COVID-era engagement practices as in-person service returned. The piece featured colleges, medical centers, and businesses, with the Fayette County School Nutrition Program highlighted for finding ways to connect safely in person.
The article recounts a dairy promotion during National School Breakfast Week where representatives from The Dairy Alliance read to students and provided prizes. During the week, elementary students also participated in a Make Your Own Sundaes event.
“The kids really enjoyed it,” Fayette County School Nutrition Director Kokeeta Wilder told the magazine. “We work hard to build that connection with them.”
