If like many Americans you spent time purging clothing and household items while sheltering in place, you’ll be glad to know there are two local nonprofits eager to accept donations.
Bloom Our Youth, better known as “Bloom,” welcomes gently used, clean children’s clothing from baby through teen sizes, diapers, and full-size children’s toiletries. These donations stock The Bloom Closet, a resource center that last year supplied 4,500 Georgia foster children with clothing and supplies. Bloom’s donation center is located at 115 Marquis Dr. in Fayetteville.
Clothes Less Traveled, which has donated more than $7 million to local nonprofits since 1997, accepts donations Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Staff and volunteers accept dropoffs at pods behind the store on Ga. Highway 74 in Peachtree City.
Clothes Less Traveled operates the largest thrift store (more than 25,000 sq. ft.) in the southside metro area providing goods and clothing to those needing quality items at a great value.
Both organizations welcome much-needed volunteers to help process donations in socially distanced, safe sorting areas.
